Canine Conditioning Workshops

Specializing in canine massage, structure, movement, and conditioning. The seminars can be tailored to each club’s wants and needs. The following information is some information that you could learn at a program:

  • Understanding basic canine structure
  • Learn how to condition your dog for competition
  • Teaching your dog to move from the rear
  • Increasing canine agility and speed
  • Reducing your dog’s risk of injury
  • Increasing your dog’s desire to compete
  • Prolonging your dog’s competitive career
  • Basic Massage techniques

At these seminars, participants will learn basic canine structure and how to identify structural weaknesses. Participants will then learn different exercises to address their dog’s weaknesses. These exercises include exercise equipment that will stimulate your dog physically, as well as mentally. All of these exercises will improve how dogs use their body, and help them become more balanced. Correct use of exercise will help to reduce injuries, improve agility, and increase the dog’s willingness to perform. As a consequence, handlers will have the conditioning tools to ensure that their canine athlete enjoys a long healthy career.

Gone To The Dogs presents:
CANINE STRUCTURE, MASSAGE & MOVEMENT WORKSHOP II

Featuring: Joanne Lang MCMT

In this hands-on seminar learn more about canine muscular and skeletal structure as well as how this affects movement. You will learn to identify structural weaknesses and strengths in your dog that will help you identify when your dog is tired or weak and should not be exercised to help prevent injuries.  You will learn advanced exercises for improving your dog’s motion, balance and performance.

Although the focus is on athletic dogs, all dogs and owners can benefit from this seminar.  The exercises can: help puppies to establish correct movement patterns before they start athletic jobs, help your show dog shine in the ring and help you to bond with your non-athletic pet.

  • Focus on the hind end

In this seminar we will expand on earlier seminars on canine skeletal and muscular structure. We will learn more about the different phases of exercise and how to get the most out of the time spent preparing your canine for competition. We will elaborate how to identify structural weaknesses and strengths. We will also identify when your dog is tired and weak should not be exercised to help prevent injuries. We will continue your education on correcting problems with your dog’s motion. You will also learn many more exercises for improving your dog’s structure, balance and performance that can be used at home and with agility equipment.

In the last seminar we learned how to assess the structure of your dog. The next seminar (September 2008) will provide you with information on improving your dog’s specific structure and performance.
